A sweeping musical about youth, resistance, and the fight to reclaim a nation’s future.
“죽어도 죽지 않는다”
“Even if you die, you will not die”
Set during the years leading up to Korea’s annexation by Japan, Shinheung Military Academy tells the story of a generation of young people who dedicate their lives to the struggle for independence. After witnessing his father’s death during protests against Japanese rule, Dong-gyu leaves home to join the Shinheung Military Academy, founded by exiled nationalist leaders who dream of building a new Korea where the people, not the ruling class, shape the nation’s future.
At the academy, young patriots from across Korea and the diaspora gather to train and prepare for the fight ahead. As Dong-gyu forms deep bonds with fellow students Paldo, Hye-ran, and Napal, their friendship is tested by the growing dangers surrounding them. While the academy strengthens its movement, Japanese authorities begin plotting to destroy it before the resistance can ignite a revolution.
Against the backdrop of a collapsing nation, these young men and women must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for independence. Through courage, friendship, and unwavering belief in a free Korea, their legacy continues to resonate long after the battles have ended.
